Green Moong Dal Sundal
A healthy and tasty Snack

This is a healthy snack that can be done with simple procedure.

Here is the recipe:


Ingredients:
  • 2 cups Green Moong Dal
  • ¼ cup shredded Coconut (fresh or dry)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • Few Curry Leaves
  • A pinch of Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Oil
  • ½ tsp Mustard Seeds
  • ¼ tsp Cumin Seeds
  • ½ tsp Bengal Gram
  • ½ tsp Black Gram
  • 2 dry Red Chilies
  • Salt
Preparation:
  1. Wash and soak moong dal overnight.  Then pressure-cook the dal for 3 whistles.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. When they pop, add cumin seeds + Bengal gram + black gram and sauté well until the dals turn golden brown in color.
  3. Then add red chilies + curry leaves + onions and sauté well until onions become tender. Then add the cooked moong dal + turmeric + salt, mix well and allow cooking for some time.
  4. Finally add coconut, mix well and keep the pan on low flame for 2 minutes and turn off the flame.
  5. This is a perfect healthy snack for the evenings.
