Variety Bajjis

Bread-Cracker Fritters
Yummy Bajjis made with bread and crackers

This weekend, I have made the bajjis with salt crackers and bread slices. They have turned out so good. Of course they might not be a variety, but I just named them like that.

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup Chickpea Flour (Besan)
  • 2 or 4 Bread Slices
  • Some Ritz Salt Crackers
  • Salt to taste
  • A pinch of Baking Soda
  • ½ tsp Red Chili Powder (optional)
  • Some water to make batter
  • Oil to deep fry

Preparation:
  1. Mix the besan (senagapindi) with the red chili powder, salt and soda and then make into batter by adding required water.
  2. Toast the bread slices and cut them into triangular shapes.
  3. Heat oil in a pan. When it is hot, dip the triangular bread slices and the crackers one by one and drop carefully in the oil.
  4. Fry them till they are golden brown in color and then remove from the oil.
  5. Then spread the bajjis on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  6. Serve hot with ketchup or hot sauce. Yummy!!
