Papaya – Berry Shake

Papaya – Berry Shake

Papaya is considered to be the fruit of the angels for its soft, butter-like texture and sweetness. Papayas are so rich in antioxidant nutrients like carotenes, Vitamin C and Flavonoids. They are fiber rich fruits. These nutrients said to help in protection against colon cancer and for a healthy cardiovascular system.

Even though I know a lot of these health facts about Papaya, I never tried this wonderful fruit before. Somehow, I neglected it. But now I determined that I should eat papaya often for the all the nutrients it possesses.

Soy Milkshake and Pops

I never used soy milk in my cooking or tasted it before. I used it for the first time to make milkshake and ice pops and everyone in my family liked the taste. A perfect treat for this hot summer!!

Ingredients: (Perfect for 4 cups milkshake and 4 Ice Pops)

  • 4 cups Soy Milk
  • 6 Strawberries, stems removed
  • 2 ripe Bananas, skin peeled off
  • ½ cup Sugar (I used Brown Sugar but regular sugar is fine)

Preparation:

Milkshake:

Just add all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into individual glasses, garnish with slivered almonds (optional) and enjoy.

Ice Pops:

Pour the remaining milkshake into four ice pop molds and freeze until set (approx. 4 to 6 hours).

Soy Milkshake and Pops

To unmold these pops, just place the mold in warm water for 2 seconds or place under running water from the tap. They come out easily after 2 seconds.

Enjoy these yummy, healthy popsicles on a hot summer day!!

Peanut Punch from Tastes Like Home

Tried and Tasted (T&T) is a monthly event of appreciation of other blogs - an opportunity to thank our fellow bloggers for sharing their recipes by re-creating them. This month, we’re given a great opportunity to cook the recipes of dear Cynthia of Tastes like Home.

Dear Zlamushka has left a sweet comment on my blog about this great event. So I peeped into Cynthia’s home to look at the taste. Oh boy! I felt like I have stepped into a paradise full of so many mouth-watering recipes and captivating pictures. I just wanted to stay at her home forever enjoying all those yummy dishes. After a while, I came to my senses and started to search for a wonderful recipe, though it was so hard to make up my mind on one recipe. After spending almost an hour there, I found this refreshing recipe for a Peanut Punch. So I immediately decided to prepare it and so I did. And I am glad I did that, because all of us (especially kids) liked it so much and it was a hit. I haven’t made any changes to the original recipe. Thank you Zlamushka for hosting such a wonderful event! Thank you Cynthia for introducing me to such great recipes!

The original recipe can be found in Cynthia’s Tastes Like Home. This is my contribution for “Tried and Tasted” event being hosted by dear Zlamushka of Spicy Kitchen.
