Rain of Awards and a Tag

I have been showered with a bunch of beautiful awards by dear Shobha, who blogs at “Food Mazaa”. She also tagged me to share 7 facts about me. Thank you for these awards and the tag Shobha. I enjoyed doing the tag.

These awards and tag comes with some rules. I should make sure that I pass these to 15 other bloggers. As I mentioned in my previous post, it is a bigger task for anyone to choose only 15 bloggers. So I took time to think and decided to pass these to all those bloggers who have been in the top commenter list in my blog. I am choosing 5 other bloggers randomly as I have to complete this task. Dear bloggers! Please accept these awards and the tag and post them on your blogs.

Here is the list of all those 15 bloggers I am passing the awards and tag:

Check out the awards:

And here is the tag:
7 facts about me go like this:
1.      I love to work on computer, rather I should say addicted J
2.      I am scared of darkness.
3.      I love to read.
4.      I love music.
5.      I am so sensitive to smells.
6.      I enjoy watching movies with family
7.      I love to sew.
So that’s a little about me. Thanks again Shobha, for the awards and the tag.

A Long Queue, but finally…..

Yes, it was a long queue, but not for any movie tickets! I have a long queue of tags/memes which I have been postponing. But no more delays, I have to finish up all these before more such tags get added to the queue. Sorry friends for taking so long in acknowledging your tags!
Tags
7 facts about myself tagged by: Kitchen Flavors, Ramyabala, Sireesha, Sripriya Vidhyashankar and Archy.

Friends, thanks for tagging me! I have done a similar tag before too. Please check it out here:
http://teluguruchi.blogspot.com/2008/02/ive-been-tagged-again.html

Next in the line is a Poem on Friendship sent by Nidhi of Sizzling Bites. Here it is:

We need friends for many reasons, all throughout the season.

We need friends to comfort us when we are sad, and to have fun with us when we are glad.
We need friends to give us good advice,We need someone we can count on, and treat us nice.
We need friends to remember us once we have passed; sharing memories that will always last.
(Wow, how true!)

The rules of the tag are as follows:
  • Pick up the nearest book
  • Open to page 123
  • Find the 5th sentence
  • Post the next three sentences
  • Tag 5 people and acknowledge the person who tagged you.
So I looked around and found the book “Harry Potter and the Deadly Hallow”, on my computer desk left by my daughter who has been reading it for a while. So picked it up and opened the page 123 and here is what the 5th sentence and the next three sentences say:

“Very well then, together,” he said, shrugging. He cleared his throat. “I am here, as I’m sure you know, because of Albus Dumbledore’s will.”
Harry, Ron, and Hermione looked at one another.
I should say this is an interesting tag. Thanks Divya and Karuna for the tag!
G. Pavani of Food Lovers has tagged me to share 6 unspectacular quirks about me. I haven’t done this meme before, so Pavani are you ready to read my blabber? But wait, don’t I have to talk about the rules of this tag? So be patient!
  • Link back to the person who tagged you
  • Mention the rules on your blog.
  • Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours
  • Tag 6 following bloggers by linking them.
  • Leave a comment on each of the tagged blogger’s blogs letting them know they’ve been tagged

OK. Now the 6 quirks:

  1. I don’t like the smell of eggs while cooking (especially omelets).
  2. I remain mum even if I know that the other person was wrong. (I think it’s polite, but hubby dear says it’s not a good habit!)
  3. If I am on a specific work, I lose track of the time until it’s done. (Is it odd or what? Oh fine!)
  4. I go to sleep so late in the night, so don’t want to wake up early. (Not a good habit, ha!)
  5. I lose interest in a job if I postpone it. (Even though it is something important!)
  6. I don’t like to go shopping when it is night or raining.

So that’s all friends! Thanks for the tag Pavani! I had fun doing it.

Awards

Last but not the least, presenting two beautiful awards:

Sireesha and Archy passed me the “Good Job Award” Thanks friends!

Rosie of Rosie Bakes A ‘Peace’ of Cake has passed the “Brilliante Weblog Award”. Thanks for thinking about me Rosie!

Phew, finally reached the end of line. Now I am a free bird, la la la! Oh, wait a minute! I forgot the most important thing, PASSING THE TAGS & AWARDS.

I am passing all the above tags and the two awards to these friends listed below. I would like to say two things here: for the tags, it’s up to you; if you are not interested you may let it go or forget about the tags if you have already done these before! But I advise you to do it, it was fun!

Yippee… I Made It!

Dear Friends,

I am on Cloud 9 today and 100 ft. above the ground with tremendous joy! Most of you might have already known the reason for this! Yes, yes, I have won two wonderful contests: Fortune Cooking Contest and Open Sesame 1. This is like a wonderful treat for me as our marriage anniversary (June 8th) is coming up! So I have so many reasons to celebrate our marriage day with a great joy. Thank you all so much for your wonderful wishes!

Fortune Cooking Contest:

This wonderful contest is hosted by wonderful duo, dear Shriya and dear Nithu of Spicy Tasty, where the winners will be chosen randomly by a lucky draw at Random.org. The main rule of this contest was to pick a zodiac sign and its corresponding food item listed and whip up a delicious dish with it. I have chosen my sister’s zodiac sign (Leo) and prepared a dish with Bell Peppers. I was too lucky to be chosen randomly in a lucky draw! I am so happy for this and thank you dear Shriya and Nithu for hosting such a wonderful contest.

Open Sesame 1 Contest:

This is another wonderful contest under International Food League, hosted by another wonderful duo, dear DK and dear Siri, where we need to crack a riddle after choosing a box. So I have chosen Box#3, cracked the riddle and prepared Mini Millet Patties. The winner will be selected through voting. Thank you all so much for voting for me and making me win this contest. I am really blessed to have so many friends who always support me! I am really happy that I have entered this blogging world! Or else how could I make so many wonderful friends like you all? Thank you, thank you and thank you!

Last but not least, Dear Sashree of A Warm Welcome to all the Foodies, has made me happy again by passing the “Good Chat Blog Award”. Thank you so much dear Sashree for thinking about me!

And one more, I was informed by Alpesh of Linq.in that my blog has achieved the following awards:

1. Best blog of month in Recipes category for March.
2. Best blog of week in Recipes category on 03-16-2008.

Thank you for choosing my blog for this, Alpesh!

Annu’s Tomato Pasta (Your Recipe Rocks) and a Meme

Last Thursday I prepared Annu’s Tomato pasta for dinner. It was so delicious and we all enjoyed it so much. I have made some additions and deletions to the original recipe.

I omitted garlic and butter as said in the original recipe. Instead of butter I used olive oil. I added mixed vegetables and basil to the pasta. We enjoyed this tomato pasta so much. Thanks for such a yummy recipe, dear Annu! “Your recipe really rocks”.

The event “your recipe rocks” is started by dear Madhuram of Eggless Cooking. The main intention of this event is to cook a non-rice dish from a fellow blogger and it has to be a wholesome, stomach filling main dish.

Next let me talk about the meme. I have been tagged by dear Shubha Ravikoti to write about 10 things I hate. It is easy to write about 10 things I like, but 10 things I hate, has put me into test. So I sharpened by brain a little bit and finally came up with these things. Have fun reading. Thanks for the tag, Shubha! That was fun.

  • 1. When it is too hot or too cold. I know it is Mother Nature’s sport and we can’t change it. Even then I hate to sweat and shiver.
  • 2. I hate being alone during nights. I am afraid of darkness and the silence of night time.
  • 3. I hate it when anyone tries to shower advices on me as if I know nothing.
  • 4. I hate bragging.
  • 5. I hate watching movies that are full of violence and hatred and of course tragedy.
  • 6. I hate to take long walks, but my hubby makes me do that for fitness.
  • 7. I hate to get wet in the rain (only rain!). I don’t know why!
  • 8. I hate it when small kids talk big words like grown-ups. I like when the kids behave like kids.
  • 9. I hate bad smells. I like fresh, fragrant odors.
  • 10. I hate to eat eggs directly like boiled egg, omelets etc. Of course I eat them when they are in the invisible form like in cakes, cookies etc.

That’s all to it. No more I think! Hope you enjoyed reading it. I don’t want to tag anyone specifically. Anyone who is interested to do this meme can take up this. It’s up to you! But, believe me, it was real fun doing this.
