Celery Fritters

Celery Fritters

One evening we wanted to have a quick snack that is healthy and yummy. So I thought for a while and this snack idea came into my mind. And Voila! A delicious and healthy snack was ready within short period of time.

Let's go to the recipe:

Ingredients:
  • 2 cups finely grated Celery (I just put the celery pieces in a blender)
  • 1 cup Rice Flour
  • 1 small Onion, finely chopped
  • 5 or 6 green Chilies, finely chopped
  • A pinch of Baking Soda
  • Few Curry Leaves
  • A handful of Cilantro
  • Salt
  • Oil to deep-fry
Preparation:
  1. Mix all the ingredients together except oil into thick dough. We might not need water as celery and onions already contain some water. Add very little water if needed. Keep aside.
  2. Pour oil in a pan and heat. Take small portions of the dough, pat into little circles and drop carefully into the hot oil.
  3. Deep-fry until they turn golden brown in color and remove from the oil.
  4. Transfer them into a plate lined with tissue paper to remove excess oil.
  5. Repeat the same process with rest of the batter.
  6. Enjoy this delicious snack with your favorite dip and a cup of tea!!
  7. This makes a perfect evening snack on a chilly day!!
